Meaningful Beauty Influenster ~ November 2013

Day one

Day two

This anti-aging product was sent to me complimentary by +Influenster for testing purposes in the Meaningful Beauty Voxbox. Cindy Crawford teams up with Dr. Sebagh to create this treatment.

Product claim: This crème de la crème treatment takes a triple approach to combating the signs of aging with three powerful anti-aging ingredients: super antioxidant melon complex, anti-aging peptides and hyaluronic acid. Combining the power of a serum with the rich, moisturizing effects of a crème, this super-boost is designed to help protect, increase hydration and prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Size: 0.5 fluid ounces

Texture: Creamy and light

Smell: light floral scent

Packaging: Durable container. Pump easily dispenses product.

My take: I'm loving using this anti aging treatment in my day to day skin care regimine. I issue my Simple facial cleanser then apply one to two pumps of Meaningful  Beauty Creme de Creme on my face and neck. My results have been consistent silky smooth skin.

Pros: Works as described

Cons: Price point may be out of reach for some

Shea Moisture Lavender & Wild Orchid body care

Shea Moisture fan?
Love body care products?
Read along with me as I spill the beans on how my dry skin responded to this family of products.

First, let's start with the +Shea Moisture  Lavendar & Wild Orchid Body and Bubble bath with Shea Butter. This has a light floral scent. The consistency is very light similar to other body washes on the market. I love that this has a dual purpose and can be used as a bubble bath as well.

Next, is the Shea Moisture Lavendar & Wild Orchid Hand and Body Scrub with Shea Butter. This is a great multi-purpose scub for the skin. When I want to give my hands and or feet special attention this can be used to exfoliate revealing soft, smooth skin. The Shea butter really makes a difference in the quality of this family of products. Rubed a small to medium sized amount onto my skin for great results.

Next, is the Shea Moisture Lavendar & Wild Orchid Body Butter with Shea Butter. Love, love, LOVE this body butter!! Provides a thick and creamy consistency yet absorbs quickly.

Next, is the Shea Moisture Lavendar & Wild Orchid Bath, Body & Massage oil with Shea Butter. This product lives up to its claim to leave skin soft with a light floral fragrance. It plays well mixed with the body butter or alone. Provides great lasting shine. It also works well after when used on hands after exfoliating with hand scrub mentioned above.

Next, is the Shea Moisture Lavendar & Wild Orchid Joint & Muscle Relief Dead Sea Salt Soak. The description on the label describes this product perfectly. I used it several times after long days at work with calming results. Mineral rich Dead Sea salts melt well into warm bath. My sore feet felt good after soaking. The Lavendar scent lingered long enough to help me begin to relax and unwind.

Spa Treatment Tip:
Turn your bathtub into a little piece of heaven on earth
~ place a do not disturb sign on the outside of your bathroom door.
~ place a handful of Dead Sea salts under running warm water
~ pour two or three squirts of the bubble bath into tub
~ pour a squirt or two of the massage oil into tub
~ turn on calming spa music
~ put on your silk eye mask

Relax and enjoy!!

Huetiful Hair Steamer Demo & First impressions

In this blog, I demo the +Huetiful Hair Steamer.  Share my first impressions of this hair tool at the end. Have you seen the video yet?

First, let me say how excited I was to see my Huetiful Hair Steamer arrive on my actual birthday! Yay! Been wanting to add this baby to my arsenal of hair tools for a year now. After watching tons of positive reviews while stalking there social media pages for updates I finally took the plunge to invest in this particular steamer brand. Why? The Heutiful hair steamer has made big waves in the natural hair community around the world. Not to mention its minority owned from the good ol USA! Now, let's get started with the demo!

As usual I began with a pre poo using almond oil. To help me manage the process I sectioned my hair into 8 sections. Used butterfly clips to hold each section in place. Then sprayed a little aloe Vera juice before applying almond oil to hair.

Next, I used the Bel Nouvo  Avocado & Shea as my deep conditioner. Gently apply conditioner to each section of hair then twist. Used bobby pins to pin each section towards crown of my head to make sure steam could reach the oldest parts of my hair.

Next, after pouring water into the water reservoir I  turned the steam and nano buttons on. Waited less than 2 minutes for steam to start coming then get under hood of steamer

After about 20 minutes the steamer stops. My hair feels super soft.

Next, I wash the conditioner out. During the rinse process I can feel a big difference in my scalp and hair. My strands are so moisturized I can literally feel the moisture. Not greasy but silky soft moisture. My pores must still be open because the rinse process also feels different on my scalp. It dies not tingle, burn or hurt but there is a distinct difference. Then I fine back in camera to give my first impressions.

Greenhouse Effect Challenge | #LetsGrowGHE ~ Week 4 of 12

The Greenhouse Effect hair challenge started by +Michelle Howard over at RadiantBrownBeauty.com has been a blessing on my natural hair journey. Watch me share how week 4 of 12 went by clicking below:

This is a very beautiful place high up amongst  the Napa Valley Mountains overlooking the vineyards. The creek I love to listen to has dried up. Much of the vegetation is changing as we move from fall into the winter season. It is still very peaceful above these vineyards. My camera started acting up and eventually died on me. These shots do not seem to give the beauty of this place justice. Anyhow, here are some of the pictures taken along my hike amongst nature.

Ipsy Glam Bag ~ November 2013

Unboxing Ipsy Glam bag? What did you get? Yay or nay this month? Read on to see what I got.

Theme for November 2013 ~ Glam it up!

Was a little nervous when I noticed the words "Received Damage" in bright red letters as the package sat in my mailbox. However, that soon turned to joyous excitement when I saw six undamaged beauty items. Normally there are only five items so this was a pleasant surprise! Also noticed a curiously natural earthy smell coming from inside the glambag.

Now, lets take a closer look at what's inside!

==>> First up we have the Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Summertime.

==>> Next, we have the Starlooks gem eye pencil in Topaz

==>> Next, we have Em MIchelle Phan mascara in black.

==>> Next, we have the Nailtini nail polish in Champagne #124

==>> Next, we have the +GLAMGLOW MUD MASK Youthmud Exfoliate Treatment.

==>> Next, we have the Be a Bombshell shameless lip crayon

==>> Finally, there is this cute glam bag similar to a clutch. Gold on the outside and hot pink on the inside with the Ipsy logo sewn onto the back.

All in all the November Ipsy Glam Bag appears to be a hit in my book. Excited to try the Glamglow Youthmud? What are you excited to try? Did you get anything different? Scroll down to the comments to spill the beans on what you got?
